Odvolací soud dnes zmírnil z 20 let na šest let vězení trest Lukáši Nováčkovi, který se zapojil do činnosti proruských separatistů na východní Ukrajině. Neprokázalo se totiž, že muž se tam přímo zúčastnil bojů. Soudci proto sedmadvacetiletého opraváře z Karlovarska uznali vinným z účasti na organizované zločinecké skupině, nikoliv také z teroristického útoku. Verdikt je pravomocný.
Nováček přiznal, že se v červenci 2015 vypravil přes Rusko na Ukrajinu a pobýval tam půl roku v kasárnách separatistů. Odmítl ale, že se tam aktivně účastnil vojenských úkolů. Tvrdil, že pracoval zejména v kuchyni, také prý opravoval školu a nemocnici a odklízel trosky po bombardování. V lednu 2016 přejel do Moskvy, na české ambasádě požádal o vydání pasu a odcestoval zpět do Česka.
Muž u soudů uváděl, že do Doněcka přicestoval za dívkou, se kterou se seznámil přes internet. Její známí mu podle něj nabídli místo u doněcké armády, on ale přistoupil jen na práci civilního zaměstnance, aby si vydělal peníze. Odvolacímu senátu dnes řekl, že provedl mladickou nerozvážnost. “Kdybych v té době věděl, že je to brané jako terorismus – to nikde nebylo řečený – tak bych tam nikdy na popud bývalé přítelkyně nenastoupil,” prohlásil.
Při odchodu z jednací síně ale řekl novinářům, že jeho proces je politický s že souvisí s tvrzením, že ruská zpravodajská služba GRU stála za výbuchy muničních skladů ve Vrběticích. „Do té doby, než se to řeklo, všichni ti kluci, co tam (na východní Ukrajině) jsou, dostávali podmínku,“ tvrdí.

Za teroristický útok ve prospěch zločinecké skupiny Nováčkovi hrozilo až 26 let a 8 měsíců vězení. Plzeňský krajský soud mu původně uložil dvacetiletý trest, který navrhoval státní zástupce Martin Bílý. Nováčkův obhájce žádal zproštění obžaloby, případně to, aby soud skutek kvalifikoval jako službu v cizích ozbrojených silách, na kterou dopadá nižší sazba.
České soudy už řešily více případů spojených s boji na Ukrajině. Bělorusovi Alexeji Fadějevovi uložily 21 let odnětí svobody, uprchlému Martinu Kantorovi o rok méně. Minulý týden pražský městský soud nepravomocně potrestal 21 lety vězení bývalého vojáka, uprchlého Martina Sukupa.
